In 2017, Nike unveiled their New York headquarters, a stunning workplace spanning six floors in midtown Manhattan. We were engaged to create some of the most distinctive elements in this space, including two converted vehicles, hundreds of wall tiles, and illuminated wayfinding.

Vehicle mods with a purpose.

We transformed the VW bus into a dining and conference space (complete with speakers and lighting) and outfitted the step van with grab-n-go food and drinks just for employees.

Creative problem solving.

Due to the complexities of the installation site, both vehicles were stripped to their basics, meticulously cut and rebuilt in sections, then assembled in place.

Collaboration is the name of the game.

Nike’s Workplace Design + Connectivity branch saw the opportunity for singular brand activations in the new Nike New York Headquarters. Our application of their design was to fabricate and install custom wall tiles featuring sculptural, abstract sports iconography. We also created hundreds of blank tiles that were hand-painted by local New York artist, Micah.

Hundreds of custom tiles.

668 unique CNC-routed wall tiles were installed in a clean, minimal grid with a cleat hanging system for convenience and flexibility.

Original wayfinding solutions.

Four 12-foot tall aluminum, LED-lit numbers make wayfinding easy throughout the space. Each numeral — weighing between 280-300 pounds — were broken into four to five sections, meticulously crated and reassembled on-site.
