A quirky playground complete with a 12-foot tall lit sneaker, branded bleachers and bundles of flowers bursting up from the pavement for Tyler, the Creator's annual music festival.

A process inspired by Tyler, the Creator

The unique collaboration between Converse, Tyler, the Creator, and Axiom started with sketches in Tyler's playful style before moving to 3D models and engineering.

Custom everything.

From design direction to CAD modeling and engineering, to the shop floor and all the way to Los Angeles, everything about this experience was custom. We milled 500 pounds of foam on our 7-axis robot to create the shoe sculpture and hand-painted each detail of the sneaker including the stitching, branded soles, shoelaces, textures and shading.

A larger-than-life installation.

Once the engineering drawings hit the shop floor, we only had two weeks to fabricate, finish and crate the larger-than-life sneaker. On-site, an extended forklift carefully situated the installation.
